The “Danny Shots”
During the planning of the trip, we realized that we'd be visiting tons of famous places and landmarks, and that it would be really cool to take a picture of them in a similar way. Thus, the “Danny Shot” was invented. To maintain a unifying feel, we tried to keep constant as much as possible about all the photos. All were shot with the lens at 28mm, and with Dan roughly the same distance away from the camera. The sign consists of a piece of black plexi-glass with the lettering done in white paint marker. We were concerned with the hassle of carrying this sign all over the place, so my mom offered to make a carrying case for it. The nylon case includes a strap that allows the sign to be slung across one's back — totally out of the way and completely inconspicuous. It also holds a marker, tiny bottle of windex and some wipes, so we can change the sign on the move. I should note that we only did “Danny Shots” in the U.S.
